Уникальный трехколесный Morgan 1929 года выпуска ушел с онлайн-молотка

Через интернет-площадку eBay продан поразительный лот — трехколесный британский аппарат Morgan, который застал почти все события XX века.

Самое поразительное транспортное средство в современной гамме компании Morgan — 3 Wheeler. Это создание, обитающее на тонкой грани между автомобильным и мотоциклетным миром, отдает дань уважения своему предку из начала прошлого столетия.



Удивительная штуковина впечатляет как минимум двумя обстоятельствами: во-первых, она трехколесная и, во-вторых, ее двигатель расположен перед передней осью и играет роль своего рода украшения. Аппарат подобного типа в 1909 году разработал лично для себя основатель марки Генри Фредерик Стэнли Морган. Тот самый первый трайк назывался Runabout, был оснащен 7-сильным двигателем Peugeot, отличался легкостью, проворством и отличной энерговооруженностью. Позже, под влиянием интереса со стороны общества к своему творению, Морган основал компанию по производству подобной техники, а позже и автомобилей. Так что история Morgan фактически началась с трехколесников. Как раз один такой — Super Sports Aero – нашел на eBay нового владельца.




Согласно данным владельца, он был выпущен в 1929 году, а двухцилиндровый 40-сильный двигатель собрали в 1927-м. Данный трайк в обиходе называют «two speeder» (двухступенчатая коробка без задней передачи, что не являлось проблемой для владельца в силу легкости трехколесника) с кузовом типа beetleback. Окончательная ставка составила 45 100 долларов. Повезло кому-то!
